Danny Jack

Danny started Kemo yesterday and has radiation for the rest of the week. This will be going on for the next 6 weeks. Because of how week and forgetful he is he is now under constant watch. So even when we have an off day at the resturant it is still not an off day. It is allowing me some time at home to get things done around the house. and it is allowing the girls to be away fromt he resturant more. We have blown up Kathryn's swimming pool and the girls are having fun playing in that. Because of Danny I was having them be as quiet as church mice but after the two days he was here last week I found out that noise is not a factor When he sleeps he is out like a light. So I just let the girls play.
School will be starting in about a month so that will be an interesting thing to factor into our schedule. I am still homeschooling Kathryn. I am happy to say that we are continuing with K12 virtual school ( leon county voted to go with K12 over Connections, Yeah!!!), and Sam is starting middle school. In elementary school she went from 7:50 to 2:20 now she will be going from 9:30 to 4:00. Not sure about her transportation yet weather it will be bus or pick up or a combination of the two we will wait and see. As far as work goes I think Amanda and I are going to go to half days off. Me in the morning teaching and her in the evening. I will love not having to do school between opening the store and dealing with customers. Thomas and Robert are going to trade off Saturdays. They are more than willing to let me and Amanda deal with Danny most of the time.
Well I'm off to get Thomas up for work. It is my day at home to take Danny to radiation and get some things done around here.

Digital cameras vs 35 MM

Remember back when you had a 35 mm camera. You would take a roll of film, then drop it in a drawer or your purse saying I need to get that developed, and then 3 years later come across it and finally do get it developed. We the same thing can happen with a digital camera. I have 2 of the memory cards and apparently have not used the 2nd one in many years because these are the pics I found on it. The first few are recent because I pulled it out because the other one was full and needed to snap just a few more pics. Ha Ha. The others are at least 2 to 3 years old. Enjoy this trip down memory lane with me.
Here are Sam and Kathryn at VBS this summer. It was called Boomarang Express. Anything dealing with animals has both halves of my daughters divided attention.
Here is one of Sam's award ceremonies at Canopy oaks 2 years ago. this one is her graduation from 5th into 6th grade this year.
Kathryn really had fun playing soccer . This was her playing soccer in the spring of her kindergarten year.
When Robert still worked for Albertsons they would sponsor this event. It was a walk a thon. Christmas of '07 Amanda and I participated with the girls. And yes I got out there and did the walk.
They had a bounce house for the kids. Look at his great smile. This was before she lost her 4 front teeth. Which I am happy to report are finally starting to grow back in.
Halloween 2007. While we were Trick or Treating one of the houses had this snake in their yard and we snapped some pics around it.
You can see sam standing but look under the 2nd hump to see Kathryn. Below is a close up of her playing peek a boo. She was a dalmation in '07
Every year since birth we have taken pics at a pumpkin patch this was Halloween '07 with her best friend Hannah.
What a fun trip down memory lane.

The 4th and beyond

Last night Thomas, Robert and I took the girls to the Church to watch the fireworks and listen to the bands. Amanda stayed home with Danny Jack. Because of the cancer and the pain he is in he can not be trusted to do his own medication right now and he is on a feeding tube.
At the church they were having a silent auction in the Joy Dome to raise money for Missions projects ( they raised over $2000 ) . The resturant donated a dinner for 4 valued at $25. It went for $17. They had a lot of items from famous people that had been donated too. I bid on some CD's for K and a basket of beanie babies. and won both. K was very excited. Just before the fireworks were to begin she had to go to the bathroom. We came out and they were singing The National Anthem so of course we stood still and put our hands over our hearts to salute the flag. As soom as the song ended they turned off the lights. Even with a full moon and fireworks going off we could not find Thomas and Robert so I told Kathryn to just sit down and we would enjoy the fireworks and then find them. After the fireworks were done everyone started moving so of course it was impossible to find anything so she and I headed back to the car to wait for them. They say if you are ever lost hug a tree, well we hugged a Jeep and they eventually "found " us. Getting out of the parking lot in the past has always been a challenging and fun experience but this year I guess they had better traffic cops because we were out in less than 20 min where it has taken us over 45 in the past.
We came home and of course the day wasn't done until my pyro husband and niece had set off a few fireworks at the house. we finally fell into bed around 11:30.

Today K and I went to sunday school but not to church. I am not sure what is going on but I just feel out of sorts in the church. I don't feel as if I belong there any more. I am considering trying out a few other churches in the area that seem more child oriented. And talk more about the Bible and God than they do the churches financial situation. don't get me wrong I know the church needs money to keep going and to bring more people to Him but when every sermon is about that it gets old fast. I guess we will jsut have to see what happens next.

Right now I am watching K and S playing in a blow up pool in the front yard. it is only about a foot to 18 inches deep but they are having fun getting wet and splashing each other. Tom is outside sitting on the porch watching them. This was the one thing Kathryn wanted to do today so her day is complete and full.

My how they grow.

9 years ago this adorable 2 and 5 year old proceeded Thomas and myself down the isle at our wedding. Hunter was our ring bearer and Samantha was the little flower girl....
.... check them out at 11 and 14. Aren't they just the cutest thing going. This picture does not do Hunter justice he towers over me at 14. Can't wait to see him at 18... girls watch out he's a cutie.

Summer fun at the Resturant

In between our afternoon rushes we manage to fit in some fun times. Here are Kathryn and Daddy playing with the skateboard. Daddy is the horse and pulling the wagon.
Here is shorty being the horse.
Kathryn is learning to jump rope. She still neds some work.
Jumping without the confines of the rope is so much easier. This was just after a rain storm. If it is not thundering and lightening we let the girls play in the rain. It is one of Kathyrn's favorite activities.
